Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Forklift Operator to join our manufacturing team from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely moving raw materials, finished goods, and supplies throughout the facility while supporting production and shipping operations. The ideal candidate will have prior forklift experience, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate sit-down, stand-up, and/or reach forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Load, unload, move, stack, and stage materials and products.
- Supply production lines with raw materials and remove finished goods.
- Perform shipping and receiving activities, including verifying quantities and documentation.
- Inspect forklifts before each shift and report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Maintain accurate inventory transactions using scanners, computer systems, or paperwork.
- Ensure proper storage of materials and adherence to inventory control procedures.
- Follow all OSHA, company safety, and quality standards.
- Assist with cycle counts and physical inventories as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse and production environment.
- Support other warehouse and manufacturing duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 1 year of forklift operating experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environment.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment.
- Basic math and reading skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality.
Preferred
- Current forklift certification.
- Experience with ERP, warehouse management, or inventory systems.
- Manufacturing experience.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and twist throughout the shift.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and manufacturing environments.
- Ability to sit and operate equipment for extended periods.
