Production-Manufacturing Engineering Leader

Summary

Analyze and optimize new and existing molding and assembly processes. To improve performance, quality and reduce downtime. Work as part of the launch team for new products.

Job Functions

• Setup and optimize process parameters for new molds.
• Optimize and troubleshoot process on current production molds.
• Setup and optimize process parameters on new assembly equipment.
• Optimize and troubleshoot process on current assembly equipment.
• Develop and write work instructions for new and current programs and packaging.
• Perform time studies to balance work loading and flow in cells.
• Attend tooling trials/meeting for new tooling.
• Attend AQP meetings for launch of new product/projects.
• Train team members on new products during launch.
• Attend quote/kickoff meetings for new products/projects.
• Update plant molding and assembly capacity databases.
• Update plant layout for new machine and equipment.
• Schedule tool repairs with internal and external tool shop.
• Track and schedule PM’s of primary and secondary tools.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Participate in 8D and corrective action activities, scrap and downtime activities, Run @ Rate with new products, PFMEA/Process Flow activities.
• Optimize work cells/plant for optimum product flow and ergonomics.

Experience and Skills

• Experience with processing on plastics injection molding machines.
• Experience with secondary plastic assembly equipment.
• Able to setup molding processes on new and existing molds.
• Able to troubleshoot and correct molding and assembly processes.
• Able to use Microsoft Office.
• Autocad (preferred) or other design software.
• Strong work experience in machine qualification including calibration, correlation, capability, repeatability and reproducibility.
• Able to communicate effectively in a worldwide environment.
