Job Description
A Plastic Injection Maintenance Technician ensures the continuous, efficient operation of injection molding machines, robots, and auxiliary equipment through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. Key responsibilities include repairing hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and optimizing machine parameters to meet quality standards.
Job location: Onsite – Howell, MI
Work schedule: 3rd Shift
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform daily, weekly, and monthly inspections and maintenance on injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment (dryers, grinders), and robots.
- Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues to minimize downtime.
- Quality & Process Control: Monitor machine operations to ensure production quality, troubleshoot defects, and adjust settings as needed.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of maintenance actions, machine repairs, and downtime.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols (lockout/tagout) and OSHA regulations
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certificate or degree preferred.
Experience: Proven experience in industrial maintenance and troubleshooting.
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and work orders.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, work with tools, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation (blueprints, schematics, specifications).
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to equipment reliability and process improvement.
- Team-oriented with the ability to train and mentor less experienced technicians.
- Computer proficiency and strong communication skills.
