Develop and maintain a highly motivated, well-trained work force. Safely produce high quality materials for on time delivery. Provide the development of personnel so that qualified successors are available for positions in manufacturing when needed.

Purpose

Production Team Leader Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Coordinates daily activity of manufacturing work cells to meet quality and delivery requirements.
2. Responsible for scrap control / reduction and inventory accuracy.
3. Ensures the safe and efficient operation of all equipment in the area of responsibility.
4. Administer on the job training for production employees by developing job aid where necessary to ensure training compliance and performance effectiveness and to maintain/increase quality performance.
5. Participates in root cause analysis and problem solving.
6. Recommends and implements sustainable process improvements using lean manufacturing strategies.
7. Responsible for appropriate staffing of work cells to meet delivery schedules.
8. Conduct daily shift meetings to ensure team awareness / engagement in quality expectations, production goals and company announcements.
9. Confers with other Production Leaders to coordinate operations and activities within / between departments.
10. Follow company policies, procedures and guidelines including the company handbook.
11. Offer plant/companywide continuous improvement suggestions.
12. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.
