Overview

A Maintenance Team Leader ensures maximum efficiency of facility machinery and equipment by leading a team to perform preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance. Key responsibilities include assigning daily tasks, managing repairs, ensuring safety compliance (e.g., OSHA), tracking maintenance metrics, and reducing downtime. This position requires technical expertise in mechanical, electrical systems, hydraulic, pneumatic and strong leadership skills..

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Supervision: Oversee, train, and mentor maintenance technicians; assign tasks, manage work schedules, and evaluate performance.
  • Operational Efficiency: Ensure machinery, production equipment, and facilities operate at maximum uptime and efficiency.
  • Maintenance Execution: Plan and execute preventative and corrective maintenance tasks, including troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and robotic systems.
  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce all safety, environmental, and regulatory protocols, fostering a "safety-first" culture.
  • Resource & Budget Management: Manage maintenance inventory, order parts/supplies, and support budget adherence.
  • Reporting & Communication: Maintain accurate maintenance logs, prepare reports on equipment status, and collaborate with production teams to prioritize repairs. 

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Technical Knowledge: Strong experience in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical troubleshooting and repair.
  • Leadership/Management: Proven ability to lead a team, solve problems, and make decisions under pressure.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Education: High school diploma required; technical certification, associate degree, or equivalent experience in industrial maintenance is preferred.
