Main Missions
1 - Manage external service providers used by the Maintenance department
- Decide on the use of external service providers
- Select external organisations and negotiate their work in collaboration with the purchasing departement
- Schedule preventive and curative maintenance and improvements made by external companies
- Analyse failures and intervention time for corrective and preventive actions
- Check the services provided by external companies
- Ensure the storage of equipment and compliance with safety instructions and procedures
2 - Organise and schedule the preventive and curative maintenance of buildings and shared equipment and/or production means and adjust, maintain and upgrade the programming of production equipment
- Schedule preventive maintenance based on potential risks
- Coordinate the curative maintenance of production equipment
- Analyse failures and intervention time for corrective and preventive actions
- Help to select and approve maintenance purchases
- Chair working groups, analyse major failures
- Define the management policy for spare parts
3 - Provide expertise in the field of Maintenance
- Assist with the study and definition of general new machine specifications and provide technical support as required
- Define and implement corrective actions to improve the service
- Minimise shut-downs of equipment and installations
- Work on new projects to Monitor and identify obstacles
- Is the energy referent and improve the energy efficiency (analysis, improvement proposal, implementation … )
4 - Manage his/her activity
- Based on the objectives of his/her activity, prepare action plans and coordinate the missions of his/her team in a coherent manner
- Monitor performance indicators for his/her activity, implement corrective actions if necessary and inform his/her teams of them
- Ensure that his/her teams remain motivated and that there is a good internal atmosphere
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical is preferred. Technical training with commensurate experience will be considered.

- Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- 7-10 years of engineering experience in a production environment.
- Must have previous experience in team supervision and leadership.
- Working knowledge of applicable mechanical codes, installation requirements, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to use various troubleshooting techniques to solve problems.
- Proven ability to plan and prioritize to accomplish goals.
- Experience in implementing World Class Manufacturing concepts.
- Computer skills: Microsoft Suite.
Essential job functions
- Serves as first point of contact for maintenance and mechanical issues.
- Develops high standards for the department and maintains a culture of accountability.
- Works with the manufacturing and process engineers to improve equipment longevity.
- Ensures that equipment PMs are developed and executed properly.
- Recognizes equipment problems, immediate and longer term, and formulates action plans for improvement.
- Improves department compliance with work order planning and scheduling requirements.
- Ensures that critical spares are readily available
- Support capital activities by participating in design reviews and ensuring the maintainability of new projects.
- Responsible for all supervisory functions related to department staff including safety and environmental compliance, overtime/vacation/absenteeism coverages, work force planning, personnel related issues, cross-training and performance management.
- Conduct daily shift meetings to ensure team awareness / engagement in quality expectations, production goals and company announcements.
