Description:
As part of the Novares team, you will oversee the manufacturing automation process at multiple sites for the Business Unit (AMEC, American Engine Components). The BU has 6 manufacturing plants (4 in Wisconsin and 2 in Mexico).
Responsibilities Include:
- Work with manufacturing and engineering teams to determine the requirements of the machine and develop specifications for machine functions, user interface, and quality control for high reliability.
- Key contributor in development and implementation of a long-term wide-ranging Operations Improvement plan including the development of an automation strategy for multiple manufacturing plants.
- Builds and delivers the roadmap for the development and growth of new and existing automation processes.
- Work closely with manufacturing to monitor and improve efficiency and output.
- Proficient in designing electrical control systems using AutoCAD/Solid works electric, pneumatic diagrams, enclosure/panel layouts, power, logic, and safety circuits.
- Design and engineer various industrial process control systems that integrate new and existing hardware and software.
- Design automated assembly line equipment and programming.
- Design automated test fixtures and maintenance.
- Program PLC based systems across multiple platforms.
- Developing the machine code in PLC or DCS systems as well as Human Machine Interface (HMI), software so that equipment functions as specified.
- Develop new software and hardware designs to meet machine requirements.
- Advance programming experience with AB/Rockwell software using compact/control Logix platform PLCS using studio designer 5000/RSLOGIX 500, Beckhoff controls programming with TWINCAT 2 & 3 and familiar with SIEMENS C++/C#/python/visual studio/SQL database programming
- Designing industrial HMI/OIT Panels with panel view plus OI panels using factory talk view studio (SE and ME) windows CE, basic networking, experience with Wonderware, indusoft, and 3rd party HMI programs.
- Integrating many different types of hardware devices and I/O systems (sensors, actuators, pneumatics, servos/motion controls, robotics, lasers, printers, scanners, and many other types of devices).
- Machine vision systems.
- Assist with technical writing of scope of work, operating and user guides
- Research components and technology available from suppliers, determine ways to increase reliability of controls and reduce costs.
- Train and mentor peer group on automation concepts and skills.
CANDIDATE BACKGROUND:
- Bachelor’s in Automation or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent discipline
- Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional areas
- Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Strong knowledge of product/process flow and design for high-volume manufacturing including robotic automation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

Main Missions
Level 1
1 -Train relevant personnel in processes and ensure the deployment and capitalisation of technical skills at the site
- Train and support relevant personnel in work methodologies, operating processes and tools
- Make the necessary decisions to optimise results, in line with initial data
2 - Ensure the productivity of existing processes/products
- Manage the technical database
- Define and Write the procedures for new means and processes.
- Define the production line Layouts. Create and validate the Time Sequences.
- Help to develop the process during the project phase, 'in production' and optimise it
- Provide technical input for processes and workstations to make technical improvements
- Schedule and maintain or organise the maintenance of tooling, assembly machines and the product
- Make production equipment reliable to improve the quality, safety, etc. of existing means
- Propose innovative technical solutions concerning manufacturing processes in order to reach productivity, quality improvement and safety objectives and to reduce running time
- Cost, carry out and validate the 'in production' modifications for the plant processes
- Negotiate with any external service providers
- Validate the implementation in the field of inspection means
- Define and validate the Work In Process (Forklifts, suspended or other, etc.)
- Define and validate the substitution packaging
- Optimise existing packaging
- Ensure compliance with workstation ergonomics rules

3 -Coordinate the integration of new products / processes on the site for which he is assigned.
- Help to define the necessary Plant means and coordinate their implementation to acquire the necessary skills locally
- Attend Project meetings and assist with the FMECA Process with the project group.
- Is able to lead a Process and/or means FMECA working group.
- Support/participate in the definition of CS process during the PFMEA
- Participate in and validate the writing of the Specifications for the Specific means on the site.
- Produce the Specification Capacity means.
- Launch calls for tender and consultations for Capacity and Plant means
- Monitor suppliers
- Receive and validate the acceptance and the development of new resources.
- Initialise the creation of CAM technical data (Parts, Parts lists, Instruction sheets)
- Create process adjustment sheets (parameters) and associated documents
- Carry out the programming required to operate specific equipment
- Carry out CCV / VSM for new projects
- Conduct flow and layout studies.
- Conduct station and time studies (time usage rules) and draw up documentation in compliance with quality requirements
- Compile the manufacturing file: procedure, operation sequence diagram, man-machine activity chart, instruction sheets, lists, manufacturing charts
