Novares is looking for its Manufacturing department his/her future Technician Machine Setter - 2nd Shift (M/F), located in WALWORTH-2 W2-PL.

Finality

Technician Level 1, 2 and 3: Ensure the good working order of the machines in compliance with standards for quality, reliability, cost, deadline, safety, and the environment
Technician Level 2 & 3: provide technical tutoring and training
Technician Level 3: participate in development of processes within the team

Purpose

The Machine Setter is responsible for safely and efficiently setting up, troubleshooting, and maintaining injection molding machines, molds, and auxiliary equipment. This role ensures reliable production of high-quality plastic automotive parts while minimizing downtime and adhering to strict safety and quality standards.

Essential job functions

  • Perform mold changes, including installing, removing, aligning, and securing molds in injection molding machines using clamps, bolts, overhead cranes, and hand tools.
  • Connect and verify water lines, hydraulic lines, knockouts, air lines, and hot runner systems.
  • Set up and adjust machine parameters (e.g., temperature, pressure, injection speed, cooling time) based on work orders, blueprints, and material specifications.
  • Start up machines, run test cycles, and troubleshoot issues to ensure parts meet dimensional, cosmetic, and quality requirements.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on molds, machines, and auxiliary equipment (e.g., dryers, robots, conveyors).
  • Assist with process optimization, defect reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of setups, changeovers, and maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with operators, technicians, and production teams to support efficient production runs.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, and promote a safe working environment.
  • Clean and organize work areas in line with 5S standards.

Abilities

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification in injection molding, plastics processing, or related field preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of injection molding processes, plastics materials, and equipment (e.g., presses, robots, auxiliary systems).
  • Ability to read blueprints, work orders, and technical specifications.
  • Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and overhead cranes.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, bend, reach, and work in a fast-paced production setting.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts and overtime as needed.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
